IMAGE Project Partners

Leeds Beckett University (LBU), United Kingdom

Leeds Beckett University (www.leedsbeckett.ac.uk) is a higher education institution in England. There is a long tradition of supporting autistic students through a number of innovative schemes. The collaborators for this project come from the School of Arts, the School of Computing and the School of Social Sciences. LBU led the Autism&Uni project, an EU-funded precursor to the IMAGE project.

Role: LBU co-ordinates the IMAGE project and is responsible for Intellectual Outcome 1: Employability Toolkit for autistic students.

University of Helsinki (UoH), Finland

The University of Helsinki (https://www.helsinki.fi/en) is the largest and oldest higher education institution in Finland.  The collaborators for this project come from the Faculty of Educational Sciences and the Faculty of Sciences’ The Department of Mathematics and Statistics.

IMAGE Role: UoH is responsible for all qualitative research, the creation of a Good Practice Guide for Academics and for project dissemination.

Athena Institute, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, Netherlands

The Athena Institute (https://science.vu.nl/en/research/athena-institute/index.aspx) is a transdisciplinary department within the Faculty of Science of Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. The Institute contributes to the academic understanding of complex societal problems encourages the use of research products.

IMAGE Role: The Athena Institute is responsible for Intellectual Outcome 2: Training material for HE careers advisors and also co-ordinates the creation of a Good Practice Guide for HE careers advisors

Medical School Berlin (MSB), Germany

MSB is a private, state-approved university in the city of Berlin, founded in 2012. The scientific university has a strong focus on practical relevance and applicability. Collaborators for this project come from the Faculty of Human Sciences and have experience of working with autistic people in the area of vocational psychology.

IMAGE Role: MSB is responsible for conducting a multi-national mapping survey to identify current support practice, the creation of a Good Practice Guide for employers and for project evaluation.

Université Fédérale Toulouse Midi-Pyrénées (UFTMP), France

UFTMP gathers all universities and research organisations in Toulouse. UFTMP coordinates the French project “Building an Aspie-Friendly University”, involving 16 French universities, aiming to improve the academic integration of people on the autism spectrum, and provides French universities with tools to become more autism-friendly.

IMAGE Role: UFTMP is responsible for Intellectual Output 3: Good Practice Guides for professionals.
